Today’s goal is to understand and practice:
- Modal verbs in different tenses (especially for polite speech)

1. Modalverben (Modal Verbs)
German has six main modal verbs:

🗣️ Indirekte Rede (Indirect Speech)
This is used when reporting what someone else said.
Basic pattern:
Er sagt, dass …
Sie meinte, dass …
Use Konjunktiv II for distancing or politeness.

📌 Common Mistakes I Noticed (and Fixed)
- Using möchte for every situation (don’t forget: würde + Infinitiv is often more flexible)
- Forgetting “dass” in indirect speech
- Using modal verbs without infinitive verbs (e.g. “Ich will” → needs an action: “Ich will schlafen”)
